NAVI MUMBAI: A 20-year-old youth who hails from Yavatmal and resided under Sanpada flyover on the Sion-Panvel highway has been arrested by Vashi GRP under the Pocso Act for allegedly impregnating a 17-year-old girl who too resided with her father and brother in the same locality.
Sambhaji Katare, senior inspector of Vashi GRP said," The arrested accused identified as Abhishekh Pawar (19) had established sexual relationship with the girl after promising to marry her. After the girl's father learnt that she was four months pregnant, she revealed her relationship with the accused, who went absconding.”
“After the girl revealed the name of the accused and gave details of his locality in Yavatmal, our police team went there and arrested him on Friday. The accused will be produced before the court on Saturday for seeking his police custody remand."
