NAVI MUMBAI: A mini-marathon will be held at Kalamboli on Sunday to promote cleanliness in keeping with the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat initiative.
The mini marathon will have four categories. The road race ‘Kalamboli Mini Marathon’ will be held on the eve of 69th Independence Day. This event will have school and college students apart from senior citizens and differently-abled people taking part.
Conceptualised by the Kalamboli-based Sai Bhakt Seva Sanstha to spread the message of cleanliness, over 1,000 runners have already confirmed their participation.
The event is divided into four categories such as open group for both men and women contestants devised for college students and adults.
The junior group will include students from classes V to X for boys and girls.
The open group will run for 4 km while the junior group will complete a 3-km stretch.
Organizer Virendra Patil said, “Our objective is to motivate people to keep their neighbourhood clean.”
The race will start from Kalamboli police chowky circle and end at the same spot.
