While, the LMVs will be diverted via Shingroba ghat along old Mumbai-Pune highway to prevent traffic congestion," said API Bhosale.
API Bhosale further said, "After the landslide, the boulders fallen on the Mumbai lanes had disrupted traffic movement towards Mumbai for 3 hours. The boulders were cleared using JCB machine and transported in dumper vehicles. The next day, we closed the Mumbai carriageway for two hours from 12 noon to 2pm and cleared the mud accumulated on the peripheral road due to the landslide and also some loosened boulders to prevent another landslide at the same spot. After inspection by MSRDC engineers, as they found more loosened stones stuck on the hill, it was necessitated to remove them by closing the Mumbai carriageway yet again to prevent any fatality for the motorists plying on the Mumbai carriageway.
