Kerala clubs hold harvest fest celebrations

Malayali associations of Kharghar and Nerul organised celebrations for the

harvest

festival of Onam on Sunday. The event began with Thayambaka, a performance by drummers. The other cultural performances included mohiniattam, bharatnatyam and folk dance forms like kaikottu kali, kummatti kali and pulikali. While New Bombay Keraliya Samajam organized the event at their club premises in Nerul, Seawoods Malayali Samajam celebrated it at Agri Koli Bhavan in Nerul. Kharghar Kerala samajam held the programmes in sector 5, Kharghar. Meritorious HSC and SSC students were awarded for their performances. —Indrani Basu
