Cop hunt on for Panvel cheating accused

NAVI MUMBAI: There has been some leads in a cheating complaint filed almost six months ago by a senior citizen from CBD. Vijayan Nair, (65), lodged a complaint against his business partner, Vijay Menon (45) for cheating him of Rs 10 lakh after the latter’s cheque, issued in favour of Nair in November 30 last year, bounced. But Menon reportedly went missing in the same month. In a recent development, the Khandeshwar police, got some leads about Menon’s presence in Mumbai. Constable Mukund Mhasane of Khandeshwar police station said, “Menon has allegedly cheated many to the tune of Rs 1 crore. He may have invested the money in a Hindi film and is somewhere in Mumbai. But for the past six months, he has not contacted his family members.” After Nair lodged a cheating complaint at CBD police station against Menon, the CBD police sent a notice to Nair, stating that further investigations will be on only after Menon is traced. Menon's wife had also lodged a missing person’s complaint in November at Khandeshwar police station.
