NAVI MUMBAI: A spectacular “Literature Conclave” was held on 10th June at
Vishnudas Bhave
auditorium in Vashi, by all the
DAV
schools of Mumbai and Thane region which brought together eminent guests from various fields-education, media, literature, performing arts, etc.
The auditorium was packed with several literati, students, teachers, alumni, parents, principals of various schools and heads of various administrations.
The event included a welcome dance by students of various DAV schools, a welcome address by Regional officer, Western Region, Jose Kurien on literature and its importance, musical rendition by DAV alumni Karthik Srinivasan, guitarist Bonney Singh and some question-answer sessions.
The event was moderated by Manoj Mittal, founder of DAV United Foundation and Hema Nair, principal DAV International School, Mulund with the support of

, principal DAV Public School, Thane.
Author Akshat Gupta talked about his life and works followed by a panel discussion between parents, students, alumni and teachers featuring revered author, screenwriter and DAV alumna, Kanika Dhillon where she discussed her literary journey and the role of DAV in her life and career. Famous author Devdutt Pattanaik also inspired students by talking about his life experiences and Indian mythology. Dr Nisha Peshin, director of DAV College Managing Committee, dean of DAV United and in charge of publication of DAV textbooks, spoke about literature and its impact on education. She provided a glimpse of her book 'Let Them Fly: My Tryst with Kids' by sharing a few anecdotes. Other panellists included actress turned author and poet
