10 kg charas seized from Raigad beach

Navi Mumbai: The Raigad police on Sunday seized nine packets of narcotics weighing 10.4 kg after it washed ashore at Srivardhan beach, said Raigad superintendent of police Somnath Gharge. “On the contraband packets, it says ‘Afghan Product’. The panchnama of the seized narcotics was carried out in the presence of Taluka Magistrate. Prima facie, the seized contraband seems to be charas. An FIR has been registered at Srivardhan police station against the unidentified accused, who have been booked under section 8(b) and 20 (e) of the NDPS Act,” said SP Gharge. TNN
