Sinnar: Industry minister, Subhash Desai, who was in the city on Friday for the inauguration of the public library, said youngsters in the state were embracing Marathi literature.
"In Maharashtra, the reading habit is improving among the youth, especially for Marathi literature. The sale of Marathi books worth Rs 6 crore during the Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in Pune recently is the best example of this trend," said Desai
He added that he was surprised to find out about such a large sale of Marathi books, " I realized then that the habit of reading was growing, especially Marathi literature."
He went on to speak of the merits of developing the habit of reading,"a town, which has a good library and reading culture, has great importance.

A Marathi litterateur, Kishore Pathak said, "The young generation always wants to feel like they are doing something different. They start looking for new topics and turn towards reading. They like something energetic, pertaining to their feelings."
