NASHIK: The city police have issued a general notifications about changes in traffic routes that will be implemented during the Navratra festival between October 13 and 22.
All vehicles, including handcarts, bullock carts and cycles have been banned from Modak Signal to Sandeep Hotel, NMC commissioner's official residence to ground water survey department, Chandak Circle to Sandeep Hotel and Mahamarg bus stand to Sandeep Hotel between 5 am and 10 am and from 4 pm to 12 pm.
State transport buses and other vehicles towards Nashik Road and Cidco will have to go via Khadki Signal and Dwarka from Modak signal. Light vehicles proceeding to the city from Mumbai Naka will enter through Trimbak Road via Mahamarg taxi stand point, Tupsakhre lawns, Chandak Circle and Bhavani Circle. Heavy vehicles proceeding towards Ambad and Satpur areas will enter Satpur MIDC via Dwarka Circle and Garware T-point. Vehicles moving towards Panchavati from Dwarka will have to take Kannamwar bridge, Santosh T-point, Rasbihari School and the ones travelling from Sarda Circle towards Gadkari Chowk will have to take the way via N D Patel Road, Kit Kat junction and Modak Signal.
Police officials said that the ban will not be applicable for all vehicles, with the exception of police department vehicles, ambulances and vehicles carrying dead bodies. The routes and timings can be changed as per the situation without giving prior intimation, the officials said.
A change in routes has also been implemented in Bhagur area of Deolali Camp, where Navratra is celebrated on a larger scale at Renuka Mata temple.
No vehicles will be allowed from Joshi Hospital to Jojila Marg to the Kendriya Vidyalay in between 5 am and 11 am and from 4 pm to 12 pm.
Vehicles from Bhagur to Deolali Camp will have to take Jojila Marg in front of Kendriya Vidyalaya through Jijamata Chowk and Perumal Road. Vehicles proceeding towards Bhagur from Deolali Camp will travel through Joshi Hospital (Shree Yash Arcade building), Perumal Road, Jijamata Chowk, Jojila Marg andKV.
