Nashik: A bike rally was conducted in the city on Thursday to protest against allegations of sexual harassment and religious conversion bids at the local TCS office. Participants rode on bikes from the company's premises to the district collectorate, demanding a safe working environment for women across all professional sectors.
The protest, organised by the Sakal Hindu Samaj group, was led by BJP MLA Devyani Pharande and several other party members, with largely women participants. The route went over the Indiranagar and Mumbai Naka areas, with loud sloganeering when they reached the CBS area.
Organizers demanded strict legal action against those indulging in sexual and religious harassment and warned of continued protest unless perpetrators in the recent case were punished.
So far, the police have arrested seven people wanted in nine cases registered at the Deolali Camp and Mumbai Naka police stations in the case. The arrested suspects include a woman assistant general manager (AGM) in the company.
