Mahila Mahavidyalaya celebrates birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda

NASHIK: Nashik Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s L B R D Arts and Commerce Mahila Mahavidyalaya and the recipient of ‘The Best College Award’ by Savitribai Phule Pune University celebrated National Youth Day on account of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on January 12.

The celebration was jointly organised by the Cultural Committee and National Service Scheme of the college. Bhagashree Dixit, Centre Head of Swami Vivekananda Kendra, Pimpalad was the chief guest on the occasion. She illustrated the journey of the great Swami Vivekananda’s life. She pointed out the journey of Swami Vivekananda as student, as leader and as the Vishwaguru who explained the Indian culture to the world.

She also explained Swami Vivekananda as an avid reader of variety of subjects, and who also had profound interest in Puranas, Vedas and Upanishads. She highlighted how Swami Vivekananda introduced Indian heritage, culture and philosophy to the world.

Principal Dr. Leena Pandhare has presided over the occasion. In her address, she said, “Students should learn from Swami Vivekananda and develop his/her personality”. She also referred to

Rashtramata Jijau

and Mother Teresa.

Dr. J B Solunke (NSS Coordinator) introduced the programme while S O Malve (Head, Cultural Committee) introduced the guests and anchored the programme.
