Jalgaon forest department to start safari at Pal sanctuary
Nashik: Pal forest, falling under the Yawal wildlife sanctuary in Jalgaon district, may soon start a safari in April this year. The Jalgaon forest department has firmed up its plans to develop a stretch of 30 kms within the sanctuary for the proposed safari. The department has also sent a proposal to the Jalgaon district planning committee to seek funds of estimated Rs 8 crore for the project. Jamir M Shaikh, Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF), Yawal forest division, Jalgaon, said, “Pal forest houses various wild animals including deer, leopard, sambar, chinkara, hyena, wild boar and birds of different species. Hence, we are planning to start a safari to attract tourists here.”Forest department officials added that they have set up a joint committee for the safari project.“The committee includes forest officials and local people as the members. The project will also generate employment for the youths, who can also work as guide or drivers for Safari vehicles,” said forest officials. The department mentioned that they had plans to undertake other infrastructural works apart from the safari. These include creating water ponds to spot more wild animals in the forest, solar pumps to fill up the ponds and setting up solar street lights. “We also plan to put up many watch towers in the forest areas for tourists, start ticket counters in that area and develop a natural trail of 2-3kms for the visitors that come here,” added forest officials.Check out the Valentine Day 2025 , along with the Valentine’s Day Wishes and Messages.
