FDA cracks down on adulteration

Nashik: In a series of action against manufacturing and cold storage units, the food and drugs administration seized packaged water bottles and peanut butter for violation of norms and drained 12,000 litres of milk suspected to be adulterated.
The FDA has taken action against three separate units, in which it has taken action for misbranding products, producing goods without proper licences and presence of an adulterant at the milk collection and cold storage unit.
The first two raids to a packaged drinking water unit and a peanut butter spread factry were conducted on April 27, the officers said. The third raid was on April 28, to a milk cold storage unit in Manmad. — Abhilash Botekar
