Faster vendor registration, free training to industries on cards

NASHIK: Officials of eight PSUs on Monday promised the local industries to reduce the time frame for vendor registration and complete the process within five days. They also promised free training to industries for technology and product development.
The PSUs gave presentations on their indigenisation projects, outsourcing requirements and the support they will extend to vendors.
"Our company is engaged in manufacturing warships and submarines with focus on maximum indigenisation of the contents of the products. We have a dedicated outsourcing department for the purpose. Presently, we are producing 358 components from MSMEs. Earlier, it would take around three to six months for registration of vendors.
Now, we have reduced the time-frame to 10 days. But, we will complete the registration process for Nashik's vendors in five days," said S S Hiremath, general manager (material), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. Presently, the PSU has business orders worth is Rs 75,000 crore, he said. "We will construct six submarines by 2021," he added.
