Nagpur: Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering & Technology (TGPCET), has introduced an industry-powered curriculum in ginning technology, in collaboration with Bajaj Steel Industries Ltd (BSIL), Nagpur, and the Institution of Engineers (India), Nagpur local Centre. A MoU was signed to implement this initiative from the 2025-26 academic session for mechanical and electrical engineering students.
The curriculum includes two specialised subjects — ginning process (6th semester) and ginning management (7th semester) — to provide theoretical knowledge and practical insights into ginning technology. Students completing both courses will receive a six-month internship at Bajaj Steel's Nagpur facility, offering hands-on experience and improving employability.
The event was graced by Dr Mohan Gaikwad-Patil (chairman, GPG), Akash Gaikwad-Patil (vice-chairman, GPG), Dr Sandeep Gaikwad-Patil (treasurer, GPGI), Dr MK Sharma (CEO & whole-time director, BSIL), Dr JF Agrawal, Dr RL Shrivastava, Dr GK Awari, Nitin K Bagokar, Satish Raipure, Dr Mahesh Shukla, Dr Suryakant Thorat, Dr PL Naktode, Dr Pragati Patil-Bedekar, Dr Anup Gade, and Dr ND Wayzode.
This collaboration aims to bridge academia-industry gaps through research opportunities, specialised labs, and enhanced placements, driving TGPCET's mission — ‘From Classroom to Career – Powered by Industry Collaboration'.
