Nagpur: Two youngsters, Adarsh Samarth, 24, and Aditya Meshram, 18, were killed after their speeding bikes rammed the divider on the Narendra Nagar flyover around Wednesday midnight. Driving without helmets, the two youngsters skidded for at least 50m on the road after Samarth lost control over the two-wheeler.
This accident took place at a time when the traffic police are creating awareness about wearing helmets. The city witnessed around four accident deaths within a span of 24 hours, which also claimed the lives of two senior citizens.
Samarth and Meshram, along with their friend Arjun Vishwakarma, left home for a joyride. They were heading towards the Coca Cola company when the accident took place. Police said Vishwakarma was on his scooter while Meshram was riding pillion on Samarth's bike.
On the flyover, Samarth is learnt to have increased the speed and subsequently lost control over the bike before ramming the divider. Sustaining serious head injuries, the two youngsters were rushed to the Govt Medical College and Hospital where they were declared dead. Rana Pratap Nagar police have registered an offence in the case.
