Tabrez murder: Five held

NAGPUR: Lakadganj police arrested five people for their involvement in the murder of Tabrez Khan, a hardened criminal, inside a liquor bar at Lakadganj on Sunday. Police said that the murder was due to fallout of an old rivalry.
Following a tip-off, the Lakadganj police team picked up Atish Meshram, Bhagwan Meshram, Lalit Gaikwad, Rashid Khan and Suraj Baghmare after their involvement in murdering Khan came to fore.Khan was repeatedly assaulted with sharp weapons leading to his death. Gaikwad's father is posted at the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Rashid has several offences of robberies against him, said police.
Police said that Gaikwad was the mastermind of the murder. He wanted to eliminate Khan who was externed twice by city police. He had couple of murders against his name too. Khan too had twice tried to eliminate Gaikwad. Gaikwad called up his accomplices after spotting Khan entering into the bar. Later the group killed Tabrez.
