Sangh Parivar plans rural revival strategy
Nagpur: Sangh Parivar has formulated strategies to boost rural economy by adopting Arthik Swaraj economic self-rule model, proposed by its ideologue, late Dattopant Thengdi, and incorporating elements from Gandhi's village-based industry model. Emphasis will be on 12 Balutedari system, an ancient tradition of hereditary artisans in Maharashtra, aligning with state's goal of achieving trillion-dollar economy.The plan involves defining these 12 castes by their traditional roles in rural areas and strengthening Balutedari system as foundation for society. A think tank, the Institute of Indian Economics, is also planned in Wardha.Thengdi, founder of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), RSS trade union wing, advocated protecting local industries. Bharatiya Shikshan Manch has partnered with Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) to establish a forum, Swadhinta Gram Vikas and Peace Foundation, to work towards this goal.TNN
