Sabiya gets relief from HCBN

Sabiya Anjum Mohd Nasim Saudagar, who was disqualified from the post of Zilla Parishad member, got temporary relief from the Bombay High Court's Nagpur bench on Saturday noon, which stayed the operation of the order of disqualifying her for two weeks.

AKOLA: Sabiya Anjum Mohd Nasim Saudagar, who was disqualified from the post of Zilla Parishad member, got temporary relief from the Bombay High Court's Nagpur bench on Saturday noon, which stayed the operation of the order of disqualifying her for two weeks.
Saudagar was president of ZP Akola until three days ago and chief executive officer Dr Ashwini Joshi has handed over the charge of president to vice president Damodar Jagtap.

The divisional caste certificate verification committee Amravati had disqualified Saudagar, a BRP-BMS member, from ZP membership by declaring her caste certificate invalid.
Hectic parleys among stalwarts of several political parties were on to elect the new incumbent in place of Saudagar. Bhaudeorao Girhe, former vice-president of ZP, had challenged her caste certificate before the verification committee.
According to certificate issued by SDO Akot, she belongs to Kasar community. However, her forefathers were termed as Muslim Chudiwale on record.
Verification committee did not agree with the same meaning of Muslim Chudiwale as Kasar and declared her caste certificate invalid.
Hubby gets lifer for killing wife
Additional sessions judge AZ Telgote of Khamgaon sessions court ordered life imprisonment to Akram Khan Dilawar Khan (34) under section 302 of Indian Penal Code for killing his wife Tahera. Handing down the sentence on Saturday noon, the judge imposed a fine of Rs 500 on the accused.
According to the prosecution, Akram Khan had married Tahera of Kavthal village in 2003. After some days Akram Khan started raising doubts about Tahera's character. On June 2, 2007, following a quarrel Akram Khan set Tahera on fire by dousing her with kerosene. Tahera was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to burn injuries on June 12, 2007. During the trial Kamrunnisa Noorjabi and Rupchand Pakhre, the eye witnesses, turned hostile but the judge relied on the dying declaration given by Tahera. Assistant public prosecutor Rajeshwari Ajay Alshi argued the case for the state.
