Rotary Club
of Nagpur West in association with Rotary Club Downtown and Persistent Systems organized the programme titled ‘Mulkha Vegali Manse’ under its silver jubilee oratory series at Persistent Hall, Software Park, Gayatri Nagar. District governor Mahesh Mokalkar, former district governor Baya Shirodkar and Virendra Patrikar were the chief guests of the programme.
Gadgil is a well-known anchor and orator and has interviewed more than 3,000 people belonging to various fields of society viz. politics, sports, music, science, etc. Prominent among them are
Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar and late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. He has worked as an anchor, journalist and public speaker.
“From my childhood I have been encouraged by the people and how they became great. I always tried to find out the good things in the people while interviewing them,” said Gadgil, adding “I was inspired by the work of Pu La Deshpande. Hence I joined this field.”
Sharing his memories and experiences with the audiences

said, “Asha Bhosle is my favourite singer. Her ability to stay positive in every situation inspires me always.”
In his oration Gadgil talked about his experiences with the people he interviewed. He shared many instances where he learnt many positive things about celebrities and politicians while interviewing them.
Earlier, the programme started with lightning of lamp by the guests. Prafulla Mokadam addressed the audiences and presented bouquet to them. A tribute was paid to the martyrs and victims of Mumbai terror attack.
Mangesh Joshi addressed the audience and briefed them about Rotary Club and the various projects it has been carrying out in the city.
Questions were also asked by the audience and Gadgil readily answered them. Mokadam also proposed a vote of thanks. The event concluded with a round of applause for Gadgil.
