Osmanabad post huge 7-1 victory

Nagpur: Osmanabad, Chandrapur, Jalgaon, and Raigad posted wins in the Maharashtra inter-district football Championship being organized by Western India Football Association (WIFA). The morning matches were played at Motibagh Railway ground.The biggest win was posted by Osmanabad as they got the better of Sindhudurg 7-1. Anuj Lokhande started the Osmanabad goal glut in the 20th minute. Maniyar doubled the lead in the 33rd minute while Arbaz Shaikh made it 3-0 before the half-time.The break didn’t bring any relief for the Sindhudurg players. Barely two minutes into the second half, Osmanabad started inflicting agony on their rival with Sohrab Akhter scoring the fourth goal in the 47th minute. The scorecard soon read 5-0 as Syed Shahjahan fired in a goal in the 50th minute. Sindhudurg scored a solitary consolation goal in the 66th minute by Chinmaya. It was back to business for Osmanabad, as Syed Saff scored a brace (57th & 71st minute) to complete the 7-1 rout.In the other matches, Raigad edged past Beed 1-0, Chandrapur blanked Washim 2-0, while Jalgaon pipped Palghar 1-0.
