BHANDARA:

Forest department

officials and some villagers of the Rengepar Kotha village in Bhandara district successfully managed to trap a

leopard

that had come out on the edge of the forest today.

Shankar Tichakule, a farmer of village Rengepar kotha took his herd of cattle for grazing in the nearby forest this morning. As animals were grazing a full grown leopard pounced upon a calf and took it to a nearby trench, waiting to devour its kill. The herdsman soon informed the villagers of the incident, so they rushed to the spot.

The forest department and police were also informed and the villagers lit a fire inside the trench and the heavy smoke made the animal unconscious, which then made it easy for forest officials and villagers totrap the beast and bring him to forest office in a cage after nearly five hours of hit and miss.
