Heavy rainfall warning in some districts of Vid

Nagpur: The met department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall between September 13-16 in some districts of Vidarbha.While only thunderstorm and lightning is expected in Nagpur, districts, including Gondia, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Washim and Buldhana, are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Nagpur, has issued a yellow warning for these districts.According to official data, monsoon will start withdrawing from Vidarbha by the end of September. The normal date for withdrawal from the region is October 15.RMC has advised citizens to stay cautious and go indoors or to a safe shelter immediately at the time of thundering. “Immediately get away from ponds, lakes, and other water bodies. Do not lie flat on the ground, as this will make you a bigger target,” the advisory stated. tnn
