‘Geet Ramayan’ powerful medium to nurture cultural awareness: Gadkari
Nagpur: The four-day cultural spectacle ‘Sampurna Geet Ramayan' concluded on Monday with a deeply devotional ambience, drawing an enthusiastic response from the audience. Organised on the occasion of Shri Ram Janmotsav, the programme brought together music, narration and dance to present the timeless story of Lord Ram.The grand finale witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Kanchan Gadkari, president of Sanskar Bharati's Vidarbha province, celebrity chef Vishnu Manohar and others. Gadkari underlined the deeper purpose of such initiatives, stating that the spirit of Lord Ram must be awakened within every individual. She expressed hope that the ideals of ‘Ram Rajya' — symbolising justice, harmony and righteousness — would find resonance in society once again. She noted that artistic platforms like ‘Geet Ramayan' serve as powerful mediums to connect people across generations, fostering cultural awareness and moral values. Emphasising the role of Sanskar Bharati, she said such efforts help take meaningful art forms to every section of society, strengthening the collective cultural fabric. The evening began with rendition of Sanskar Bharati's anthem, setting a reverent tone for the performances that followed. A series of soulful musical presentations traced key episodes from the Ramayan, with artistes delivering emotionally resonant renditions that captivated the audience. The event was jointly hosted by the Khasdar Sankrutik Mahotsav Samiti (Nagpur), Paschim Nagpur Nagrik Sangha (Ram Nagar) and Sanskar Bharati (Nagpur Mahanagar).Performers including Shyam Deshpande, Ambarish Joglekar, Akanksha Charbhai, Vinod Vakhare, Yash Kher, Anand Fadnavis and Surabhi Kasturiwale brought the narrative alive through expressive singing. Each performance seamlessly blended devotion with artistry, drawing applause and appreciation from the gathering.Adding a visual dimension to the musical journey were the dance-dramas choreographed by Avanti Kate, Pallavi Updev and Vrushali Sathe along with their troupe. The performances complemented the songs, enhancing the storytelling with graceful movements and dramatic expression. The programme was anchored by Abhijeet Borikar, while narration by Shweta Garge ensured continuity throughout the evening. The musical ensemble — featuring Parimal Joshi on synthesiser, Shyam Deshpande on harmonium, Moreshwar Dahasahasra and Atharva Shesh on tabla, and Gajanan Ranade and Soham Ranade on percussion—provided a rich and immersive soundscape. The concluding aarti ceremony marked the culmination of the event on a spiritual note.
