Gadkari to receive Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh award
Amravati: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will be honoured with the prestigious Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Award during the 126th birth centenary celebrations of Dr Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh in Amravati on December 27.
Gadkari, who will attend as the chief guest, will receive the award in the virtual presence of MP Sharad Pawar and MP Supriya Sule. The event will be presided over by Shri Shivaji Education Society President Harshawardhan Deshmukh, with Amravati MP Balwant Wankhade and MLA Sulbhatai Khodke also in attendance.
The award comprises a cash prize of Rs5 lakh, a memento, a citation, a shawl, and a shreefal.
As part of the celebrations, the society will also felicitate two of Vidarbha's best female farmers. The Shardabai Pawar Best Female Farmer Award, instituted by Sharad Pawar, carries a cash prize of Rs1,11,111. The Matoshri Vimlatai Deshmukh Best Female Farmer Award, established by SSES, carries Rs51,000 in cash.
Following the felicitation, Gadkari will attend the centenary celebrations of two schools managed by the Nutan Vidarbha Shikshan Mandal in Amravati.
