Nagpur: After years of delay and intermittent action, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to resume demolition drive for widening of Old Bhandara Road from February 16. The decision was taken in a recent coordination meeting, wherein officials finalised plans for a 3-day demolition exercise on Feb 16, 17 and 18.
As per NMC officials, the drive will focus on clearing properties for which compensation has already been paid. Out of total 637 properties identified, compensation was awarded for 209. In addition, 72 properties were acquired through sale-purchase, while 56 are govt-owned. All these structures will be demolished.
