Day four of CAC counselling runs smoothly
NAGPUR: Day four of counselling for bifocal course by the Centralized Admission Committee (CAC) continued smoothly except a parent who created a hue and cry over not getting admission for their ward in the preferred college.As the management steered clear out ofcontroversies effectively and completed 380 admissions on Wednesday, there weresome parents who had to comply with whichever college was allotted to theirwards by the management, as per sources.A student informed that, oneparent voiced out on being unable to gain admission for her child in thepreferred choice of college.Students flocked the premises ofDhanwate National College (DNC) in the early hours of morning. The target of 500admissions per day has been set by the CAC but with each successive day, thenumber of admissions done is reducing, as per statistics.TOIspoke to some early birds present on the DNC premises who were anxious to knowabout the colleges allotted to them. Swapnil Gathibandhe said, "I arrived earlytoday at 7am. My first preference was either Shivaji Science college or Ambedkarcollege. I knew that I would not be getting admission in these top colleges asthe seats were full so I opted for Vishwa Junior college."
"My focusis more on the competitive exams so I have already joined a coaching class.Also, it is near to my house so it saves travelling time" headded.Most students informed that the proximity to their house is avery important criterion as they are busy preparing for competitive classes infull gear. Reshma Bhoyar said, "I opted for Prerna Junior college as I stay inDighori so it is near to my house. I am preparing for IIT so I need more timefor its studies."Some informed of trying for admission in the topcolleges on the basis of sports quota.Swapnil Kharat said, "I haveparticipated in roller skating competition at the national as well as the Statelevel so I hope to get admission in Shivaji Science college or Ambedkar collegein sports quota. I have been called tomorrow and I am hoping for seat in thecollege."
