Nagpur: A Class 12 student was found dead behind a popular mall in Ganeshpeth police station limits on Sunday under mysterious circumstances. The deceased, a 17-year-old resident of Jawahar Nagar, had left home stating he had an IT exam at his college in Congress Nagar. The family later found that he never went for the exam, said police.Police suspect the student jumped to his death from the fifth floor or first floor area of the mall, as per spot details. The incident came to light around 9.18am, when the night shift beat marshal informed Ganeshpeth police station. The boy was found motionless and rushed to a govt hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. His father lodged a complaint at the police station.Recovered items included a shoe, a water bottle without a lid, a black bangle, and a mobile phone. No suicide note was found.The case was registered as an accidental death. Preliminary police assessment pointed to suicide, but the exact circumstances, including possible academic pressure or other factors common in student cases, remained under investigation. Foul play was not ruled out yet, said police.
