Bureau of Indian Standard holds technical meet

Nagpur: Bureau of Indian Standard, Nagpur branch, organized a technical meeting on ‘Draft Indian standard specification for trowels for use in foundries’ recently.
Piyush Wasekar, joint director, explained the objective of manak manthan (technical meeting). The participants included experts from KDK College of Engineering, mineral and material testing services and manufacturers from the steel industry who shared their thoughts in the technical discussion.
Sanjay Vishwakarma, assistant director, spoke about the various standards revised and published recently by BIS. Wasekar informed the audience about various quality requirements of trowels specified in the standards including material, dimension etc.
All the participants were informed about the registration and downloading of BIS standards and obtaining BIS licence. Sarvesh Trivedi, deputy director, proposed a vote of thanks. tnn
