NAGPUR: Amateur singers belted out hits from the golden era of music at a programme titled ‘

Dil

Hi Toh Hai’ at Mor Bhavan, Sitabuldi, on Wednesday.

Organized by Sur Sargam, the show commenced with Dhanraj Raut singing ‘Shirdi waale Saibaba’ which made the audience sit up with joy and sing along with him.

A sentimental ‘Aapki nazaron ne samjha’ was presented by Vandana Umredkar. Sanjay Mire’s ‘Gulabi aankhein’, pepped with energetic dance moves, was as much a delight to watch as it was to hear. ‘Khwab ho tum ya koi haqeeqat’, performed by Shrikant Sagre, was a peek into the past, with the audience joining in chorus of the famous Kishore Kumar song.

Sharma’s ‘Aaj purani raho se’ got a demand for encore as he dazzled with his charming voice.

Ashok Bagul’s ‘Badan pe sitare’ was a house favourite, flowing with beats and gusto. Krishna Kapoor gave life to two hits of yesteryear’s ‘Mujhe kisi se pyar ho gaya’ and ‘Jawaan hain mohabbat’ in her melodious voice.

Guest performer Arun Ojharkar performed ‘Ek hasi shaam ko’ with finesse while Jairaj Markad sang ‘Laakhon hai yaha dilwale’.

Duets were also part of the show with Sujata Patil and Vivek Joshi performing romantic song ‘Isharo isharo main’. Ramesh Chaule and Mire brought the house with their performance of ‘Saat ajube iss duniya ke’.

Raut and Shakil Qureshi took the evening home with their cover of ‘Yamma yamma’. The song, which is easily one of the most energetic

Bollywood

numbers, was a perfect ending to a lively and musical evening.

Around 30 songs were performed to the delight of the audience.

Praful Shah and Surendra Sharma were organizers of the show.
