3 members of a family drown in Chandrapur

Chandrapur: A family visit turned tragic in Dhanora village of Chandrapur on Tuesday when a man, his young daughter, and niece drowned in Wardha river while washing clothes. Deceased were identified as Raju Kodape (40), a resident of Khamona in Rajura, his 12-year-old daughter Arpita, and his 14-year-old niece Priyanka Madavi. According to prelim reports, Raju accidentally stepped into deep water, misjudging the river's depth. As he struggled, Arpita and Priyanka attempted to rescue him but were also pulled into the water. Efforts to trace the victims were ongoing at the time of reporting.
