Nagpur: The crime branch anti-narcotics squad on Saturday arrested a 23-year-old man in possession of 51 grams of MD (mephedrone) powder worth Rs2.50 lakh.
The patrolling team intercepted one Prathamesh L Solanki who seen riding a moped without a number plate near Solankiwadi, Sakkardara. A search led to the recovery of the MD along with Rs40,000 cash, a mobile phone, an electronic weighing scale and an Aadhaar card. Total seizure was valued at Rs3.65 lakh.
As per police, Solanki said he purchased the contraband from his accomplice Sahil Solanki, 30, of Rameshwari. Solanki was released from jail around a month ago in a narcotics case.
A case under Sections 8(a), 22(a) and 29 of the NDPS Act was registered at Sakkardara police station.
