Preschool graduation ceremony tomorrow
Mysuru: The preschool graduation ceremony organised by the Department of Special Education at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) will be held on April 28 on the premises of preschool training centre in the city. AIISH speech language pathologist Indira Prakash will be the chief guest for the programme. AIISH in-charge director Prof P Manjula will preside over the function.

As many as 86 children with communication disorders are graduating from the preschool to proceed towards the path of success in mainstream school. Among them, 90% (78 children) are being mainstreamed and the remaining have been recommended for partial integration with special support service, as said in a press release.
Applications invited from blind students
Mysuru: Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled (RMSD) has invited applications from visually impaired students across the state for admissions for the academic year 2023-24. The institution is a free residential school initiated for visually challenged girls.
Two more bodies retrieved from VC canal
Mandya: Bodies of two more persons, who were washed away in Visvesvaraya canal, were retrieved on Wednesday. According to police, bodies of Atika Begum and Asvak Ahmed were recovered 50 m and 1.5 km away from the spot. Five persons from Bengaluru drowned in the canal near Doddakottagere on Tuesday. Three bodies were retrieved on Tuesday. Bodies were handed over to the families after a postmortem.
CII hosts workshop on contract labour
Mysuru: Confederation of Indian Industry organised a workshop on Contract Labour Management and Factories Act here on Wednesday. The workshop was aimed at disseminating and propagating information about the statute, enhancing compliance awareness, highlighting regulatory obligations, and checking the preparedness for challenges while engaging the workforce as contract labourers. It’s important for organisations to identify and understand their core activity and know the basic concepts of contract labour management and the risk associated with it, according to a release.
