Minister inspects under-construction KSRTC bus terminal in Mysuru

Mysuru: Mysuru district minister HC Mahadevappa on Saturday inspected the under-construction KSRTC bus terminal at Banni Mantap.The state govt is building the new facility using a part of the KSRTC bus depot primarily to decongest the existing KSRTC suburban on Bengaluru–Nilgiris road in the central business district.It is investing Rs 120 crore for the project, aiming to shift long-distance inter-state, mainly Bengaluru-bound services and intra-state buses to the new facility.The minister said that 30% of the civil works of the project are completed. He asked the officials to complete the project within the set deadline of March 2027 without giving room to complaints like substandard, poor-quality work.The bus terminal is coming up on 14 acres out of 65 acres available in Banni Mantap bus depot.The new bus stand will have a multi-storey floor shopping complex, will have features like a waiting area, kiosks for medical shops, refreshment stalls, a drop-off area for passengers, separate entry and exit points for private vehicles, proper drainage, and other facilities for passengers.KSRTC divisional control Srinivas brought to the notice of the minister the need for the construction of a 100-feet road to facilitate the entry and exit movement of KSRTC buses, as the current road connecting to the depot is congested.Responding to the request, the minister gave directions to the divisional controller to submit another proposal for the construction of a separate 100-feet road. Former minister and Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait and DC G Lakshmikanth Reddy were present.
