MYSORE: It was a memorable moment for students of Maharaja's High School to be part of the celebration of the 175th anniversary of their institution on Thursday. Unmindful of the biting cold, they were excited as they had waited long to cherish this moment. And they didn't forget to refresh their history lessons about the maharajas and luminaries who had contributed to education.
They were thrilled to have chief minister
Yeddyurappa on the campus, built in the first quarter of the 20th century.
"It is the efforts of the staff and the students that made the celebration a success. It was great fun," said Venkatesh S, student of class IX.
"I am happy that the CM took out his time for us. I am proud to be a student of this school," said Suraj of class VIII. The teachers too couldn't hide their happiness for getting a grant of Rs 5 crore. "The proposed Krishnaraja Wadiyar Bhavan will be an add-on to our institution," said physical education teacher, Shivarathna.
