Leopardess rescued in Hassan village

Hassan: A leopardess, which created an atmosphere of fear among the residents of Ankevallyi and surrounding villages, was rescued on Friday. It was hiding inside a house. An officer said it is 4-years-old. After examining its health, foresters will decide whether to leave it back into the forest or not.

Three people were severely injured in a leopard attack in Ankevallyi village in Hassan’s Holenarsipura taluk on Friday. The injured—Nagesh, Naveen, and Gouramma, have been admitted to HIMS hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

The leopard attack had created an atmosphere of fear among the villagers. MP Shreyas Patel instructed the forest department to act immediately. He also urged necessary precautionary measures be taken promptly, giving top priority to the safety of villagers.

An officer claimed that the foresters rushed to the spot and took all the necessary measures to prevent the leopard from venturing into residential areas.
