JSS STU convocation: Students advised to develop honesty, integrity, work-life balance
Mysuru: Chairman and managing director of Adarsh Group B M Jayeshankar on Wednesday advised the students to develop honesty, integrity, and hard work with patience to be successful individuals in both their personal and professional lives.Delivering a convocation speech at the eighth convocation of JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU), held at the SJCE campus here, the CMD asked budding entrepreneurs and business professionals to give importance to work-life balance, as it became more essential nowadays in the cut-throat, knowledge-driven, fast-growing competitive world to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.
Work-life balance not only prevents burnout, but also increases their long-term productivity, he stated, adding that work-life balance is a must to reduce stress, as well as to build strong relationships with parents and family members.He also appealed to students to build sustainable technologies that help society and enhance human dignity. It also leads to building a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive world, he added.As India produced renowned global leaders and CEOs driving the world economy, the country must be proud of their achievements, and students must also take a cue from their lives to be global leaders and successful individuals, he stated.He also provided tips to students to stay curious, stay relevant, and give importance to the ability to learn and relearn. Though rapidly developing technologies transform overnight, the roles that exist today may disappear tomorrow. Students must never stop inventing in their career path in pursuit of their dreams and goals in life.He also highlighted the contributions of JSS Mahavidyapeetha in training thousands of business professionals in keeping with global academic standards by offering more than 17 undergraduate, 28 postgraduate programmes, and doctoral research opportunities.Suttur Mutt seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami was present.Vice-chancellor of JSS STU, A N Santoshkumar, JSS Mahavidyapeetha executive secretary C G Betsurmath, and director (technical education) B Suresh were present.On the occasion, degrees were conferred on 1,832 graduates, including 1,081 graduates of Bachelor of Engineering, 63 of Bachelor of Computer Applications, 161 of Master of Science, 281 of Master of Business Administration, 99 of Master of Technology, and 29 doctoral scholars.Thirty-seven rank holders were also felicitated with medals, and 37 students received endowment awards at the ceremony.
