, district election officer, on Tuesday has banished four rowdy elements from

Mysuru

ahead of May 12 polls. They’re not supposed to enter Mysuru till May 14.

All four persons –

Syed Kaleem

and Ippsur Rehaman, both residents of Hunsur and Harish and Girish of

Nanjangud

– have been directed to report to different police stations in four northern districts of Karnataka. They have to mark their attendance every day at respective police stations in respective districts till such period mentioned by the DC.

Syed has been banished to Bidar, Ippsur to Vijayapura, Harish to

Yadgir

and Girish to Kalaburgi.

They’re not supposed to enter the district till May 13 midnight, according to the order.

The DC has directed police to take action against them in case they return before the time. The order was passed based on the recommendation by Hunsur and Nanjangud police to keep peace during the elections.

Meanwhile, authorities have threatened to take stricter action against those involved in illegal activities like cricket betting, gambling in public places, the sale of drugs including communal violence.
