‘Cong failed to make Kharge CM of K’taka’

Mysuru: Union minister of state for social justice and empowerment A Narayanaswamy on Thursday said AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge should have been made the chief minister of Karnataka a long time ago by Congress.Responding to a query on West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s proposal that Congress president Kharge should be the opposition INDIA bloc’s prime ministerial candidate, the minister, who was in Chamarajanagar, claimed Congress failed in making him the CM. On his part, Kharge had clarified at the recently held India block meeting that his party and other members of the block are focused on winning seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “There is no doubt regarding the acceptance of Kharge as one of the tallest Dalit leaders of the country,” the Union minister said. About the mimicry row by TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee during the opposition’s protest near the Parliament recently, the minister said people saw who mimicked the vice-president. “Congress leaders lack common sense,” he slammed.
