Mysuru: Commissioner of police Ramesh Banoth on Wednesday highlighted the importance of defensive driving in ensuring the safety of fellow road users.
Speaking after inaugurating a training programme for bus drivers, conductors and coordinators organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Mysuru city police to make Mysuru roads tourist-friendly, Ramesh said every road user must bear in mind that every life is important.
Such training sessions will be helpful in educating road users about the importance of
road safety practices, traffic regulations, and responsible driving techniques in ensuring safety and bringing down road crashes, he said. The event was organized at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering.
CII Karnataka past chairman Muthukumar said training with valuable skills and knowledge will surely enhance efficiency. CII Mysuru chairman Sam Cherian highlighted the importance of respecting the driving profession as they navigate life in vehicles every day. He said these skilled professionals ensure the flow of goods, services, and people with a commitment to safety and efficiency and they deserve appreciation and admiration.
