BJP workers protest against speaker

Mandya: BJP workers staged a protest in

Mandya

on Sunday against

speaker

KR Ramesh Kumar, accusing him of deliberately delaying a decision on the resignations of rebel MLAs and of “killing” the Constitution to save the JD(S)-Congress coalition government.

Party workers shouted slogans against the coalition government and claimed the speaker is allowing a minority government to rule the state. “It is crystal clear the JD(S)-Congress coalition government has lost the confidence of the assembly,” said Shivakumar Aradhya, a BJP leader. “Despite this, speaker Ramesh Kumar, who is hand in glove with coalition leaders, is dragging the no-confidence motion to try and help the minority government survive by hook or by crook.”

Meanwhile, local BJP leaders lodged a plaint with Mandya SP Shivaprakash against Shivannagowda, a Congress worker, accusing him of posting scandalous and offensive comments against BJP leaders, especially party state president BS Yeddyurappa and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje. BJP leaders said Shivannagowda’s posts on social media are tarnishing the image of their leaders.
