Stating that he could only pass muster when it came to academics, Bhat said, “My teachers promoted me by giving me grace marks since I was always active in theatre. It was theatre that helped me. Every individual wants name and fame, and they struggle to find their identity. Involvement in

co-curricular activities

helps students create that identity. Students must learn dancing, music and theatre. Education alone will not help people attain great heights.”

Bhat added that theatre helped one enjoy various perspectives on life. “Instead of learning things by watching others, an actor understands issues by stepping into a character’s shoes. Theatre has the capacity to build life,” he said.
