Three servants, including a maid, worked at her residence. She had hired the two servants a week back from an agency. One of them, Vikram Verma, was involved in the robbery bid, the police said.
The victim's businessman husband is on a business trip abroad and her child was at school when the incident took place around 8 am.
The nabbed youth, Gautam Ghosh, came to the building and informed the guard that he was Verma's friend. Verma told the guard over the intercom to let Ghosh in.
Verma and Ghosh tried to tie the other servant with a rope but he escaped. The maid, who noticed the commotion from flat's balcony, alerted the neighbours.

When Barai came out from her bedroom and went into the kitchen, the accused tried to strangle and stab her.
Vishwakarma went to the flat when he heard about the commotion. The accused had assaulted Barai and tried to flee when Deepchand nabbed Ghosh.
A neighbour then took Barai to a hospital.
The Khar police have registered an offence and have taken Ghosh into custody for interrogation. They said they would check if he had a criminal background.
Zonal deputy commissioner of police K M M Prasanna said, "We have collected background details of Verma from the agency that sent him and are trying to track him down."
