Kalyan: A 32-year-old woman commuter was allegedly bitten on the arm and had her finger twisted by an unidentified woman co-passenger during morning's peak-hour rush on Tuesday at Kalyan railway station.The incident took place as she attempted to board a fast local train headed for CSMT. Kalyan GRP registered a case and launched a search for the accused using CCTV footage.

Police said the complainant is a resident of Kalyan East's Malanggad Road area who works in Andheri. She was boarding the first-class compartment from Platform 6 around 8am when the altercation occurred. With packed crowds both inside the coach and on the platform, a brief scuffle broke out as passengers tried to alight and board simultaneously. Officials said an unidentified woman allegedly obstructed the victim's entry and assaulted her. Despite the injuries, the woman continued her journey to work.
