Mumbai: The BJP Mumbai North MP Piyush Goyal, Union minister of commerce & industry, on Thursday visited the ongoing construction works of the Mith Chowky bridge. He posted that he had a detailed discussion with officials regarding speeding up the pace of works."Its early completion will ease transportation here, which will also save both time and petrol," he posted on his X handle. The 800-metre bridge will be T-shaped with its eastern arm originating from Girdhar Park Bridge that passes above Malad Creek and extends above the traffic junction. The westward landing will be near St. Joseph's School, from where vehicles can move further towards Malad station and Western Express Highway (WEH). Another arm will extend southwards from the flyover's main carriageway, thus resembling a T-shaped structure. The south-bound arm will drop in Link Road, from where motorists can travel towards Infiniti Mall and Andheri. The cost of this flyover has been pegged at approximately Rs 45 crore.Goyal also interacted with students from a municipal school and Atharva College in his constituency, and visited the Vedic Theme Park being set up on a 7-acre area in the Charkop Naka area.
