Trio held with cattle headed to Deonar abattoir

MUMBAI: Shivaji Nagar police arrested a tempo driver and two helpers for transporting three cows and two bullocks from Khallapur in Raigad district to Deonar abattoir on Saturday.

Police found the vehicle with five animals, two unconscious, cramped in the vehicle during bandobast duty. The animals in a bad state were found after police checked the stationed tempo near Bharat Nagar Masjid in Govandi.

Driver Anwar Shaikh (46) and helpers Yasin Shaikh (35), and Nasru Pathan told police the animals were not fed for last four days.
