Teachers not on duty barred at exam centres

Mumbai: Teachers not assigned HSC and SSC duties and those whose children are appearing for these exams have been warned by the state board against being in exam centres. The decision has confused teachers who were told in October that children appearing for HSC and SSC exams could not be a reason for refusing examination work.

On Wednesday, the Mumbai divisional board instructed teachers to stay away from exam centres if they are not doing examination work. Similarly, teachers whose children are writing the ongoing HSC and SSC papers have also been told to keep away from exam centres. The decision comes after the board received complaints of teachers not engaged in examination work seen spending time at exam centres. Teachers whose children are appearing for the exams have already received answer booklets and have begun assessing them. TNN
