Senior cops transferred

MUMBAI: The state government on Saturday transferred several senior police officers within the state. Himanshu Roy, has been transferred from Nashik to the city and will take charge as additional commissioner of police(south region). He will replace D Venkatesham.
Venkatesham has been transferred to the state police as the DIG (administration).SP Alibaug Pratap Digaokar has been transferred to Mumbai.
Also, several DCPs and SPs have been transferred within the state. At the lower level, in a routine transfer, around 200 police officers in the rank of assistant police inspector and police inspector were transferred within the city. Out of these 200, 24 are from the Mumbai crime branch. API Nitin Aluknure was transferred to Juhu, PI Sudhir Dalvi to the protection branch and Satish Mayekar to local arms. All three are from the anti-extortion cell of the city crime branch.
