Rohith rally: FIR against protesters

RPI leader Prakash Ambedkar, social activists Anand Patwardhan, Feroz Mithiborewala, Kapil Patil and around 1500 others have been booked for rioting in an Azad Maida police station case. Those mentiond in the FIR were part of a rally to protest the death of dalit student Rohit Vemula in Hyderabad.

Mumbai: RPI leader Prakash Ambedkar, social activists Anand Patwardhan, Feroz Mithiborewala, Kapil Patil and around 1500 others have been booked for rioting in an Azad Maida police station case. Those mentiond in the FIR were part of a rally to protest the death of dalit student Rohit Vemula in Hyderabad.
The protesters began walking from Byculla on Monday and were to go to Vidhan Bhavan.

Police stopped them near CST. The accused persons have been booked for rioting under IPC and sections of Bombay Police Act. No arrest has been made yet.
