, actor and activist while speaking at an award function organised by Young Environmentalists Programme Trust in Mumbai on the eve of Women's Day on Thursday.

Chiru antelope has been classified as one of the most endangered animal yet it is hunted down in northern India, informed Surendranath, who is a member of the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI).

Over 25 women were honoured for their bravery and courage in various fields during the event by Elsie Gabriel, the founder of the trust.

Many personalities, such as Delnaaz Mody, Nisha Jamvwal, Shweta Shetty, Nawaaz Modi, Dr Bharti Dasgupta, Sapna Bajaj, Chesta Gambhir, Poonam Trivedi, police officer Rehana Shaikh, Priya Seth, German actor Suzanne Bernet, Nilam Sivia and Noureen Morani were among the awardees.
